Northern Islander is the Beaver Island MI monthly newspaper

Thank you for supporting our Community paper the Northern Islander. Journalism in society, particularly “local” journalism, is struggling to survive and thrive in the internet era. Newspapers have closed down, gone out of business across the country. Efforts like ours with existing nonprofit organizations stepping up or being newly created for the purpose are fighting to keep their respective communities informed and aware of what’s happening in their own unique neighborhoods.

Since 1957, the Beaver Island Historical Society’s mission has been to keep Island History Alive with a mission of Preserving and Sharing the Unique History of Beaver Island and the Archipelago. We would like to personally thank you for supporting both the Northern Islander and Beaver Island Historical Society. To keep up on the Island news all year long we invite you to subscribe.
